Feathers and sequins and patterns, oh my! Last Thursday Cazayoux Creative attended The Scout Guide volume six launch party at Baton Rouge Gallery.
As guests poured in, so did a rainbow of colors. Everyone was dressed in their best cocktail attire to celebrate Baton Rouge’s local businesses, artisans and entrepreneurs. Cazayoux Creative celebrated its first year in the magazine and took over The Scout Guide’s Instagram to cover the event.
Cora Barhorst, of Cora B. Gallery, also celebrated her first year in the publication. Her favorite thing about The Scout Guide? The community.
“My favorite part about being in The Scout Guide is all of the passionate entrepreneurs who support each other and build each other up to make these amazing businesses happen.”
Guests were greeted at the entrance of the gallery with a champagne wall and giant, glowing marquee lights from Alpha-Lit Baton Rouge that read, “TSG VOL. 6.” They walked up the concrete steps, which were lined with candles in tall, glass vases from Truly Haute. Inside, a round table was filled with copies of the chartreuse and hot pink volume six. The magazines were surrounded by blush and hot pink blooming flowers from Forage BR. The owner, Meredith Cooper, showcased her talent and detail-oriented work with every stem.
As people made their way through the gallery, they entered a separate room, which featured the new “Feather Wall” from The Modern Debutante and plush seating from Pure Vintage Event Rentals. This room also included hors d’oeuvres and dessert from Gourmet Girls. The main dessert, a two-tier cake, boasted a pink blossom cascade of Forage BR’s flowers. It stood tall and dainty in front of the elegant white feather wall.
Outside, local business owners and community leaders oohed and ahhed at every last detail that Kaleigh Porcelli planned with Amy Hazel Events. They indulged in a little fun, too. The Pixure Booth debuted The Runway, their “newest and hottest” light show video experience.
Porcelli, the owner and editor of The Scout Guide Baton Rouge, took over the publication in fall 2020. She has published volume five and now, volume six of the magazine.
Her job is to scout the best of Baton Rouge. While doing this, she markets, networks with and highlights the capital city’s local businesses and leaders.
Michelle Beauboeuf, owner of The Queen Bee and creator of this year’s launch party invitations, said Porcelli has done a “wonderful job” creating member-only events and keeping retention high.
The Scout Guide Baton Rouge offers unique marketing opportunities to businesses in the area. They are highlighted on Instagram and through the magazine, of course, which is distributed to local businesses around the city.
“It has expanded my business tremendously,” Tia Whittington, owner of H. Kyle Boutique said. “I cannot say enough great things about Kaleigh and her publication. Scout Guide is where it’s at.”
Meredith Cooper, of Forage BR, expressed the same sentiments: “This is my second year in The Scout Guide, and it has been the best experience. What I’ve loved the most is the interaction with other female business owners. There have been really strong relationships built here that I will have for a lifetime, and I will cherish those forever.”
To cap off the fabulous night, guests were handed cotton candy favors from Le Doodle. Because, what’s a party without a favor, of course?!
Our team at Cazayoux Creative is honored and excited to be included in volume six of The Scout Guide Baton Rouge. We can’t wait to attend more events and develop relationships through this one-of-a-kind experience.
